The Judicial Council met on the 25th of March 2026 and adopted a Sentencing Guideline relating to the offences captured by Section 40 of the Domestic Violence Act 2018. The Guideline relates to offences committed in a context where the victim and the offender are or were married, in a civil partnership, or an intimate relationship.
